The Country of Cities: Uncovering the Ancient Metallurgists and Fortified Settlements in the Southern Urals Archaeological research has shed new light on the origins of Indo-Europeans, revealing that their homeland was located in the Southern Urals region. This is where they initially formed as a single language group before evolving into organized communities. Starting with clans and then expanding to larger family communities and tribes, these groups eventually formed a united people and even established states. However, for any successful community, common interests are crucial. In the case of these communities, their shared interest centered around protecting the metallurgists and their valuable products. This gave rise to settlements of ancient metallurgists, such as the renowned Arkaim culture in the Southern Urals. Interestingly, similar settlements dating back up to 7,000 years were also discovered in Europe, including Germany, Austria, and Slovakia. The book explores the concept of a "country of cities" in the Southern Urals, where ancient cities and fortified settlements of the Middle Bronze Age, known as the Sintashta culture, were found. Spread across an expansive territory, which includes the Chelyabinsk region, Orenburg region, Bashkortostan, and northern Kazakhstan, these settlements share striking similarities in structure, organization, materials, and age. The aerial photographs of these settlements provide awe-inspiring visual evidence, showcasing their remarkable engineering and urban planning skills. Join us on a journey through time and space as we delve into the fascinating world of the ancient metallurgists in the Southern Urals. Discover how these communities thrived, how their lasting impact can still be seen today, and understand their influential role in shaping the history of human civilization.
